How many times have you checked that the door was locked before leaving?
Have you retraced your steps because you felt you had forgotten something? Counted steps, avoided a line, straightened an object that seemed out of place, or repeated a gesture without knowing exactly why?
We all have small rituals. Seemingly harmless acts. Silent ceremonies through which we try to negotiate with chaos, ward off fear, or regain the illusion that we are still in control.
But what happens when those rituals no longer belong to us?
The stories in Liturgias del espanto explore the moment when everyday life becomes unsettling, when obsession opens a door to the impossible and reality begins to crack. Each story proposes a new ceremony. Each page reveals another form of horror.
You may find someone else’s ritual here. Or, worse still, recognize your own.
